Why Should You Be A Clematis Enthusiast?

An enthusiast is defined as: a person of ardent zeal.  So, a clematis enthusiast would be an impassioned admirer who is filled with enthusiasm for clematis.

So, why should you be a clematis enthusiast?  If you haven’t grown clematis before (it’s my hope I’ll inspire you to do so) you truly have missed out on one of Mother Nature’s most gorgeous flowers.  They’re so beautiful as well as versatile.  No matter how big or how small your garden is, there is “always” room for (more) clematis.  I’m continually amazed at how much clematis have to offer gardeners.  Not only are they a sight to behold they can be grown both in the ground and in containers, on a wall and around posts.  The possibilities are endless.

Clematis come in a whole array of blossom sizes and shapes from large saucers that are reminiscent of the moon, to bells that seem to tinkle in the slightest breeze.  Others look like tulips, while some are blessed with millions (okay, maybe hundreds) of tiny blossoms.  In my opinion, you can never have enough clematis.

Did I mention they come in an incredible array of colors as well?  There are shades of white, cream, pink, mauve, magenta, lilac, lavender, purple, yellow, hints of green, even two-tones, etc.  However, at this time there are no true blue, true red, orange, brown or black ones.

It’s my sincere hope you too will become a “clematis enthusiast” and discover the numerous ways that they can bring magic to your garden.  I promise you won’t regret becoming an impassioned admirer.
