I’m always on the lookout for pretty ways to display clematis whether in my garden or in my home. So, I was ecstatic when my sister, Lila, came up with this very clever idea. Why not use salt and pepper shakers? Well, unless you don’t have any spare shakers to use as a backup, I can think of no reason why not. I love her and her idea and being the sweetheart that she is, she not only shared her idea with me, she provided the old crystal and cut-glass shakers I used for my pictures. Wouldn’t you agree that the three flowers from the Queen’s garden not only look sweet together, but really spice (or should I say shake) things up?
An added bonus for using these small repurposed bottles is that they provide a nice support for the flower heads of your larger clematis. These little shakers can accommodate a single clematis bloom or several flowers grouped together in a cluster. I am especially fond of how these vessels are perfect for individually showing off those clematis that have diminutive elf cap-shaped blossoms. Even though it’s such a simple way to display your clematis the end result adds a touch of elegance to your home.
